How to Choose an OEM Camera Supplier for Wedding Favors?

How to Choose an OEM Camera Supplier for Wedding Favors?

Last updated: 2026-11-04. Written by the LINK-SHINE SMART manufacturing team — an OEM/ODM camera manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China, operating since 2014.

A wedding has a date that cannot move. Cameras that arrive late, arrive with a misprinted logo, or arrive without the right paperwork for the destination country are not minor supplier hiccups — they are problems in front of a hundred guests. Choosing a supplier for wedding favors is therefore a different exercise from choosing one for an ongoing retail programme.

This guide is about how to shortlist and verify a supplier. If you are still deciding how many cameras the event needs, see our separate guide Wedding Disposable Cameras: How Many Do You Actually Need?. For a broader factory-evaluation framework, see How to Choose a Reliable Disposable Camera Manufacturer.

The short answer: Shortlist a wedding-camera supplier against four written checks: a customization minimum low enough for a single event (wedding and event projects can be customized from 20 pieces at LINK-SHINE SMART), non-customized samples delivered in 1–3 working days, bulk production of 10–15 working days after artwork and sample approval, and model-specific certificates for the destination market. Get all four in writing before paying a deposit.

1. Confirm the customization minimum fits one wedding

Most wedding and event orders are small by factory standards. The first question to ask is not “what is your price” but “what is the smallest custom order you will accept for one design”.

Check What to ask the supplier Why it matters for a wedding
Minimum for one custom design Smallest quantity accepted with your logo A high minimum forces you to buy far more cameras than guests need
How MOQ is calculated Whether it depends on model and decoration level Standard MOQ is generally 20–100 pieces depending on model and decoration level
Event-project exception Whether wedding and event projects have a lower entry point Wedding and event projects can be customized from as low as 20 pieces
Combining designs Whether two colour variants can share one order Avoids paying the minimum twice for a small personalisation
Reprint or top-up Whether a small repeat run is possible Wedding guest lists change late

The practical rule: if a supplier’s minimum exceeds your guest count by a wide margin, you are buying inventory, not favors. Confirm the number in the quote, not in a sales email.

2. Test the sample process before you commit

A sample is the only way to check print alignment, box finish and camera feel before the whole order is produced.

Sample question What a clear answer looks like
How many sample units can I get Up to 5 non-customized pieces
How fast do non-customized samples ship 1–3 working days
Do customized samples take longer Yes — artwork must be prepared and approved first
Can I see real production-batch photos Ask for batch photos rather than marketing renders
Is the sample cost credited against the order Clarify before paying

Request samples early enough that you still have time to change the artwork. A sample that arrives after the bulk production slot is booked is a sample that cannot influence the order.

3. Work backward from the wedding date

Bulk production is 10–15 working days after artwork and sample approval — not after the deposit. The clock starts when the artwork is signed off, which is why the approval step is usually where timelines slip.

Stage Timing What must be finished before it starts
Artwork preparation Buyer’s schedule Logo files, colour references, box layout
Non-customized sample 1–3 working days Model selected
Sample and artwork approval Buyer’s schedule Signed-off artwork and approved sample
Bulk production 10–15 working days Approval complete
Shipping Quoted separately Production complete; terms agreed (EXW / FOB / CIF / DDP)

Do not count shipping inside the production figure. Our default quote is FOB Shenzhen; other terms and transit times are quoted per project. For a fixed wedding date, give the supplier the date first and ask them to confirm the latest artwork-approval date in writing.

4. Verify what can actually be branded

Customization scope varies by model. Confirm each element you plan to brand before assuming it is available.

Element Confirm with the factory Common pitfall
Logo on camera body Printing method and minimum per design Logo too small for the available print area
Custom body colour Available only on certain models Assuming all bodies can be colour-matched
Custom packaging Box, insert and card options Packaging minimum differing from camera minimum
Printed manual or card Language and artwork requirements Late file delivery holding up approval
Barcodes Required for retail-style packaging Adding them after boxes are printed

LINK-SHINE SMART’s published customization scope covers logo, colour, packaging, printed manuals and barcodes. Specific constructions such as sleeves or film-canister stickers should be confirmed against the exact model you are ordering rather than assumed.

5. Check certificates for the destination market

Certificates for camera products are model-specific. A certificate that covers one model does not automatically cover another, even from the same factory.

Destination Certificates developed for What to request
European Union CE, RoHS Certificate and test report for your exact model
United States FCC Model-specific compliance document
United Kingdom UKCA Model-specific conformity marking evidence
South Korea KC Model-specific certificate

Ask for the certificate number and the model it covers before production. See our certifications page for the current scope and our export certification guide for the full checklist.

6. Compare quotes when no price list is published

Prices for custom camera projects are quoted per project, not published. That makes quote structure more important than a single headline number.

  • Ask each supplier to itemise: camera model, quantity, decoration, packaging, sample cost, and shipping term.
  • Confirm the quote’s validity window and whether artwork revisions are included.
  • Confirm what happens if the guest count changes after approval.
  • Ask for the quote in the same Incoterm across suppliers — our default is FOB Shenzhen, so a CIF or DDP quote is not directly comparable.

7. Wedding supplier shortlist checklist

  • Custom minimum confirmed in writing and below the guest count
  • Non-customized sample quantity and 1–3 working day lead time confirmed
  • Artwork-approval deadline confirmed and in my calendar
  • Bulk lead time (10–15 working days) confirmed as starting after approval
  • Shipping term and transit time quoted separately from production
  • Model-specific certificates requested for the destination country
  • Customization scope confirmed for the exact model
  • Quote itemised, with revision and reprint terms stated

8. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the smallest custom camera order for a wedding?

At LINK-SHINE SMART, wedding and event projects can be customized from as low as 20 pieces. Standard MOQ is generally 20–100 pieces depending on the model and decoration level, so confirm the figure for your exact configuration in the quote.

How quickly can I see a sample?

Up to 5 non-customized sample pieces can be provided in 1–3 working days. Customized samples take longer because artwork must be prepared and approved first.

How far ahead of the wedding should I order?

Work backward from the date: allow 1–3 working days for non-customized samples, your own time for artwork approval, 10–15 working days for bulk production after approval, and separately quoted shipping time. Ask the supplier to confirm the latest artwork-approval date in writing.

Can I put the couple’s names and date on the cameras?

Logo and artwork customization is supported. Confirm the print area, method and minimum for your chosen model, and supply print-ready files early — approval is what starts the production clock.

Do I need certificates for a personal wedding order?

Import requirements depend on the destination country and the model. Certificates are model-specific; request the document covering your exact model before production if the order is being shipped internationally.

Are prices published for wedding camera packages?

No. Prices are quoted per project based on model, quantity, customization and shipping terms. Send the model, quantity, decoration requirements and destination for an itemised quote.

Can I reorder a small top-up if the guest list grows?

Ask about repeat-run minimums before placing the first order. Small top-ups are easier to arrange when the artwork and model are already approved.
