“MOQ 20 to 100 pieces” is one of the least useful numbers on a supplier’s website, and buyers know it. A range is not an answer. Whether your order clears the minimum depends on three things — which model you pick, how heavily you decorate it, and what you actually change on the camera — and those three factors move the number more than anything else in the enquiry. This piece breaks down how we quote MOQ, where the 20-piece entry point really applies, and how to plan a run around it.

If you are still working out quantities, our event-type planning guide sizes orders by occasion, and the wedding headcount guide goes deeper on weddings specifically. If the cameras will carry your brand, start with the disposable versus reusable comparison — format first, quantity second.

What MOQ actually measures

A minimum order quantity is not a price tier, and it is not a test of how serious a buyer is. It is the smallest run that keeps a production step worth setting up.

Every camera order passes through the same fixed sequence: shell preparation, decoration, assembly, film loading, kitting, packing. Each step has a setup — the jig has to be loaded, the spray station adjusted, the artwork plate mounted, the instruction cards folded and counted. That setup costs the same whether the run is 20 units or 2,000. The minimum exists so the setup stays proportionate to the order instead of swallowing it.

That is also why the number moves between models, and between two buyers who think they asked the same question. Two enquiries can both say “100 disposable cameras with a logo” and get different minimums, because one model takes a coating step the other does not.

MOQ by order type

Order type MOQ What the minimum covers Who typically orders this way
Standard model, stock finish 20–100 pcs, set by the model and decoration level Stock shell, standard inner box, no artwork Distributors and retailers topping up a range
Wedding and event custom From 20 pcs Logo printing on the body, custom stickers or sleeves, printed inner colour boxes, matching retail packaging Planners, couples, corporate event teams
Private label programme 20–100 pcs by model and decoration Full stack: logo, shell colour, printed box, manual, barcode, retail-ready carton Brands and e-commerce sellers
Mixed format order Total meets the MOQ for each range Disposables for the tables plus reusable cameras as gifts, kitted in one shipment Programmes that need both a consumable and a keepsake

The table is the short version of how we quote. Read it as ranges rather than promises — the exact number for your order comes back with the quotation, because it depends on the model list you send us.

Why the number moves

The model sets the range. Our standard MOQ runs from 20 to 100 pieces depending on the model and the decoration level. Some models sit near the bottom of that range, others near the top, and the difference comes from how the unit is built and finished. We would rather quote the range accurately than print a flat number we cannot hold on every model.

Decoration adds setup steps. A stock camera needs no artwork. The moment you add a logo — spray, UV or laser — files have to be prepared, proofed and mounted on the printing station. Shell colour adds its own pass through the coating line, and the colour has to be matched before the run commits. None of that changes the camera. It changes how long the line is tied up before the first unit ships.

Customisation content stacks. Logo, then box, then manual, then barcode and retail carton. Each element is a separate prep task with its own proof, and each proof is a chance for the schedule to slip. Buyers who change five things on a small order feel that in the minimum; buyers who change one thing usually do not.

Certificates are model-specific, not order-specific. Our range is developed for CE, FCC, RoHS, UKCA and KC market requirements, and the report that applies depends on the exact model and your destination. This does not move the MOQ, but it comes up in the same conversation — tell us the models and the market, and we confirm which report covers the units you receive. That avoids the awkward moment where a buyer waves a certificate that does not match the model in the box.

The 20-piece entry point, and what it covers

For wedding and event projects, customisation starts at 20 pieces. That covers:

  • Logo printing on the camera body
  • Custom stickers or sleeves — the “photo booth style” wrappers planners ask for
  • Printed inner colour boxes and matching retail packaging

That entry point is why a 100-guest wedding is one small order rather than a production project, and it is the number most first-time buyers actually use. Our wedding quantity guide works through the headcount maths if you are still sizing the order.

What it does not mean: every model, every programme, 20 pieces. Standard orders still run 20 to 100 by model and decoration, and the heavier private label elements — full custom packaging, shell colour changes, barcodes — sit inside that range rather than under the event minimum. If you have seen “MOQ 20” quoted elsewhere and then been handed a 100-piece minimum at quotation, the difference is almost always the model or the decoration level, not goalpost-moving.

Planning an order around the MOQ

Order to the minimum once, with a buffer. Cameras walk off in coat pockets. That is normal, and it is why we tell buyers to add 10 to 20 percent over the strict count. Two small runs mean two setups and two waits in the production queue; one run with a buffer avoids both.

Sample before you commit. Non-customized samples of up to 5 pieces ship in 1–3 working days. Customised samples take longer, because artwork has to be prepared and proofed before anything is built. If you are choosing between two models, sample both — sampling is quicker than re-running the model that did not work.

Lock the artwork early. The production clock starts at approval, not at order. You approve a pre-production proof showing logo position, print size, colour and packaging layout, plus a physical sample; once that is locked, bulk production runs 10–15 working days. Changes requested after approval can force re-sampling, which is the single most common way a fixed event date gets stressed.

Sample first, then order. Stock samples ship in 1–3 working days, and the customized-sample window is 5–7 working days — that is what our FAQ page states, and it is what we quote. Plan the approval loop into your timeline rather than treating sampling as instant.

Work backwards from the date. For a fixed event date, placing the order three to four weeks ahead leaves room for one revision round without panic.

Mix formats if the programme calls for it. Disposables on the tables for the night, a smaller batch of reusable retro cameras as gifts for the wedding party or the graduate — as long as each line meets its own minimum, we kit them together in one shipment. The format comparison covers which camera does which job.

About pricing

We do not publish prices, and we do not publish an MOQ-to-price table. Camera pricing moves with order size, decoration and packaging, and a list price would be wrong within a week. Contact us with your quantity, customisation and target market and we will quote against that. We quote EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP — FOB Shenzhen is our default — and the FAQ page states our MOQ, sampling and lead-time terms in the same wording we use on quotations.

Common questions

What is the MOQ for disposable cameras?

Standard MOQ depends on the model and the decoration level, generally 20 to 100 pieces. Wedding and event projects can be customized from as low as 20 pieces. The FAQ states it the same way we quote it.

Can I order fewer than 20 pieces?

For a production run, 20 pieces is the entry point for wedding and event customisation; other programmes start higher depending on the model. If you want to evaluate first, non-customized samples of up to 5 pieces ship in 1–3 working days — that is the practical way to test a model before committing to a run.

Does the 20-piece minimum include customisation?

Yes. At the wedding and event level it covers logo printing on the body, custom stickers or sleeves, and printed inner colour boxes with matching retail packaging. Heavier private label elements — shell colour, full custom packaging, barcodes — sit within the standard 20 to 100 range by model and decoration.

Why does the MOQ change between models?

Because models are built and finished differently, and decoration adds setup steps that a stock shell does not need. The minimum keeps that setup proportionate to the run, so it moves with the model and the decoration rather than sitting at one flat number for the whole catalogue.

Can I mix models or formats in one order?

Yes, as long as the total meets the MOQ for each range. A common pattern is disposables for the guest tables plus a smaller batch of reusable cameras as gifts; we kit both into one shipment.

Does a bigger MOQ mean a longer lead time?

No. Lead time is driven by artwork approval, not order size. Samples of standard models take 1–3 working days; customised samples run longer because files are prepared and proofed first; bulk production takes 10–15 working days after approval. A 20-piece custom order and a 500-piece custom order of the same model pass through the same stages.

How far in advance should I place an order?

Allow 1–3 working days for stock samples, artwork preparation and proofing if you are customising, 10–15 working days for bulk production, plus shipping. For a fixed event date, three to four weeks ahead leaves room for one revision round.

What certifications apply to my order?

Our range is developed for CE, FCC, RoHS, UKCA and KC market requirements. Certificates are model-specific — send us the exact models and your destination market and we will confirm which report applies, so the paperwork matches the units you receive.

Tell us your programme, we’ll quote the MOQ that applies

Send us the programme type, the quantity and the destination market — contact us here. We will come back with the model recommendation, the MOQ that actually applies to it, and a quote, usually within one business day. If 20 pieces is all you need, we will say so.
